A hut in a great location with wonderful views of the Imperial Crown (Zinalrothorn, Ober Gabelhorn, Pointe de Zinal, Dent Blanche and Grand Cornier). This is a view of the Weisshorn from the Cabane Petit Mountet, a welcoming hut just above Zinal (an easy 1.5 hours walk uphill). The lady owner is very friendly. Good hearty dinners - plenty of second helpings! Hot shower available at no extra cost (some other huts charge extra). Dormitories range from 4 people upwards.

Cabane Petit Mountet, Val d'Anniviers, Valais.

ReplyDeleteOn August 8th, 2005, I took the cable car from Zinal to Sorebois, then hiked from Sorebois to the
ReplyDeleteCabane du Petit Mountet and back to Zinal. Had lunch at the Cabane, and found it most agreeable! The views are wonderful, but then I had been seeing them all along the high route from the upper cable car station to the Cabane.
